Autonomic nervous system support

POTS & dysautonomia

POTS can feel like living inside an unpredictable body — heart racing without warning, dizziness, exhaustion, panic that feels medical. And many patients are told it's "just anxiety," even when they know something deeper is happening.

At Flourish, we start from a different premise: your autonomic nervous system can learn to regulate again.

WHO THIS IS FOR

When your body feels unpredictable

Dysautonomia affects the system that regulates your heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, temperature, and stress response without conscious thought. When it dysregulates, everything feels unstable. Common symptoms we support:

  • Dizziness, lightheadedness, or near-fainting on standing

  • Elevated or irregular heart rate (tachycardia)

  • Heat or temperature intolerance

  • Panic-like episodes without clear emotional trigger

  • Sensory overwhelm or hypervigilance

  • Cognitive fatigue or brain fog

  • Post-exertional crashes — physical or emotional

  • GI dysregulation or disrupted sleep

ESPECIALLY HELPFUL FOR:

  • Adults with long COVID-related dysautonomia

  • Women in their 30s–50s with hormonal-linked flares

  • Neurodivergent individuals with sensory-based dysregulation

  • Patients who've felt dismissed by prior providers

Why Flourish is different

Nervous system retraining — not adjustment-based chiropractic

Dr. Benacci works with the systems directly involved in autonomic instability. This isn't symptom management. It's addressing the underlying regulatory architecture of the nervous system itself.

01
Cardiovascular & vestibular inputs

We assess baroreceptor function, cardiovascular reflexes, and vestibular input — the three primary systems involved in positional blood pressure regulation and the dizziness/fainting response. Targeted exercises retrain these reflexes at the neurological level.

02
Proprioception & body awareness

Many POTS patients lose accurate proprioceptive feedback — the body's sense of where it is in space. This directly affects postural control and sympathetic activation. We rebuild this input through specific sensorimotor exercises that calm the threat-detection system.

03
Emotional regulation pathways

The autonomic nervous system and the emotional brain are deeply intertwined. Unresolved trauma, chronic stress, and nervous system sensitization all worsen dysautonomia symptoms. We address the emotional-regulatory component as a core part of treatment — not a secondary concern.

What to expect

Three steps toward lasting change

1
Discovery session

A comprehensive intake covering your full history — including prior diagnoses, medications tried, triggers identified, and everything the previous providers didn't have time to ask. We assess your autonomic nervous system directly and begin treatment in the first session.

2
Targeted autonomic rehabilitation

We design a protocol specific to your dysautonomia pattern — not a generic POTS protocol. Sessions combine in-office treatment with at-home exercises calibrated to your tolerance level. We adjust the plan in real time based on how your system responds, ensuring we never push faster than your nervous system can safely follow.

3
Building regulation capacity

Dysautonomia recovery is measured in expanded windows — more time feeling stable, fewer crashes, greater tolerance for activity and stress. We track this closely and deepen the work as your capacity builds. The goal isn't management. It's genuine regulation.

“Benacci has helped me to get to the root of issues that I've been trying to solve for over 10 years! He is well-trained and knowledgeable, and creates a very calming space for his patients to feel at ease during appointments.”
