STROKE Recovery & Neurological Rehab

Stroke changes everything.

Stroke changes everything—your mobility, your sense of safety in your own body, and the way your nervous system communicates. Many people leave the hospital or rehab center wishing someone would explain why things still feel “off” and how to reconnect their brain to their body again.

At Flourish Brain Care, stroke recovery is approached through a neurologically-determined lens that prioritizes safety, regulation, and restoring clear sensory-motor pathways in the brain.

Who this is for:

This may be a fit if you’re experiencing:

  • Persistent dizziness or instability

  • Dystonia or movement disorder

  • Aphasia or Agnosia

  • “Disconnect” between brain and movement

  • Nervous system overwhelm or sensitivity

  • Anxiety or panic

  • Difficulty returning to daily activities

  • Emotional dysregulation or frustration in recovery

Why our approach is different

Unlike traditional rehab models that prescribe or operate on the physical injury, our work addresses:

  • Neurology — An injury to brain deserves rehab to the brain. With functional neurology, we are able to precisely locate what areas of the brain are affected from the brain and explain your symptoms with neuroscience. We then tailor specific exercises to generate neuronal regrowth of the pathways lost from the injury. Its through this process we can see full dystonia and immobility restored.

  • Psychology — We know the body stores all emotions experienced. Our psychology comes from physical structures within our brain and can be modulated through movement just as our neurology can be modulated through movement. It is not uncommon to experience heightened emotionality after such a traumatic experience. We see that restoring safety through regulatory therapies brings closer to many unanswered questions.

What to expect:

Step 1: An in-depth health history review - everything from birth to current age. What you eat, what accidents you’ve had, if you’ve lost a loved one, etc. Everything is useful information to complex cases.

Step 2: We then will move into specific testing of each part of your brain and hone in on the area that needs rehab. Simultaneously treating and trialing various exercises and therapies to ensure that we can make an impact on your nervous system.

Step 3: A specific plan to your needs is created and set in motion. From there we dig deeper and deeper into your symptoms and experience real change before our eyes in little ways and sometimes big.

“You have changed my life In so many ways. Thank you for being there and sticking with me. you are so gifted at what you do.”
